Steeped to perfection, Kasimu Taylor hits the palette with deep notes of
St. Louis Jazz trumpet history, influenced heavily as expected by Miles
Davis." In his Kasimu-Tet ensemble, he serves up, naturally, a robust dose
of the stylistic influences of Miles; lyrical, introspective and melodic.
Kasimu's style however is more appropriately described as complex. From his
long graceful lines, reminiscent of Lee Morgan to blistering and exuberant
ideas a la Freddie Hubbard, he is stylistically versatile and multi-dimensional.
In-fact, he is a "go too" on the call list of outstanding soloists and
session players in the St Louis area, having worked with virtually every
notable jazz, blues & soul band in the area from the largest of venues to
intimate supper clubs and bars.
